Perhaps you are an adventure traveller, or a diving enthusiast, or visiting friends and family on Vancouver Island. We love to welcome people to our island on the west coast of British Columbia and share the local Chemainus "attitude" of taking it easy!
Bed & Breakfast Amenities:
Onsite amenities include wireless internet, guest computer, off-street parking, guest gas barbeque on the porch, water dispenser, herbal teas, hot chocolate, and secure bike lock-up.
Our Tower Viewing room has panoramic views of the mountains and ocean. Climb the short ladder and sit on the padded benches to enjoy a game of backgammon, scrabble or cribbage, or just sip your tea and rest as you enjoy the scenery.
If you prefer a more down-to-earth relaxation, sit awhile on comfortable wicker on the extensive front porch and enjoy the garden, or take a little quiet time in the guest lounge/breakfast room. Here contemplate your next day's plans while enjoying the view from the mountain side, or the ocean side. Bookshelf, newspapers, magazines and games are available here.
Bed & Breakfast Accommodations:
Island Thyme:
With ocean glimpses from the bright bay window, the Island Thyme is spacious and bright. It features a dining table and chairs, and TV, DVD, CD and stereo. In-room thermostat controls keep you comfortable. The King-sized bed converts to two twins to accommodate travelling companions, and is nestled against a classy white and brass bed-head. Included in this suite is a microwave, fridge and coffee and tea supplies. The pièce de résistance is the jetted tub and heated floor tiles in the private ensuite. The separate shower features a river-rock floor. Robes and a hairdryer are provided as well as iron supplies.
Mountainview:
Our Mountainview suite has a great view of the mountains. You'll find a charming queen bed with brass headboard, and a microwave and coffee and tea supplies. This suite also has TV, DVD, CD and stereo, and in-room thermostat controls for your comfort. There is a dinette suite and private ensuite with clawfoot tub/shower. Robes and hairdryer are provided, as well as iron supplies.
Breakfast:
We serve full breakfasts each morning in the guest lounge / breakfast room, beside the bright bay window with glimpses of the ocean, and opposite the window with the view of Mount Brenton. Breakfasts will be home-cooked, with house specialties. They will fill you up and satisfy you right through lunch!
Your hosts will provide insider information not to be found at other forms of accommodation. Interesting conversations around the breakfast table are an integral part of your stay. Let Rick help after breakfast with directions, or have Michaela book your dinner at a restaurant of your choice. We have many suggestions for activities, dining and attractions because we're locals, and have the inside scoop! Plus we do our share of networking with many Cowichan Valley businesses and try to get great deals for our guests.
Breakfast at A Scented Garden B&B includes a healthy fruit serving, yoghurts, puddings and sometimes a dollop of cream accompanying fresh fruits, or fruit salads. Each dish is a sweet surprise.
Our entrees are famous for the presentation. Fresh flower garnishes and herbs straight from the garden accompany your serving, and sometimes a colourful corner of green, yellow and red tidbits of peppers, tomatoes or fruit pieces. Different entrees are served each day.
