Come stay with us. Come play with us. Go wild with us.
Clayoquot Wilderness Resort promises discriminating travellers an ultra-luxurious eco-destination, four-star accommodations, otherworldly coastal cuisine, super natural adventure, and some of the most breathtakingly beautiful wilderness frontier left on the planet.
Clayoquot Wilderness Resort, located in the fragile Clayoquot Sound Biosphere reserve near the seaside village of Tofino, British Columbia was founded in 1997 by Clayoquot Wilderness Resort Ltd.
In the decade since opening, the resort has grown its 'soft adventure and soft beds' program into one of the most exclusive and unique vacation offerings in the world.
Some five miles as the eagle flies, or 30 minutes by boat from Tofino rests the über-luxe 21st-century-eco-safari style Wilderness Outpost at Bedwell River.
Situated at the mouth of the Bedwell, where it spills into a nine-mile-long fjord, an enclave of 23 great white canvas guest tents, massage and treatment tents, dining tents, lounge tents and a massive timber cookhouse offers a delicious paradox of indulgent luxury and remote, untamed wilderness.
Natural amenities are ancient forest cathedrals, magnificent stands of 1,000 year-old cedars, miles of walking and riding trails, moss-carpeted thickets, pristine lakes, miles of majestic coastline, a breathtaking river estuary, abundant wildlife, and water so clear you can see tomorrow.
The Outpost
Bordering Strathcona Provincial Park just nine kilometres by boat from Quait Bay is our new Wilderness Outpost on the gorgeous Bedwell River.
An enclave of 23 great white canvas deluxe guest and family suite tents, plus dining tents, spa tents, and lounge tents offers visitors a taste of how the fortunate spent their summers 'roughing it' some one hundred years ago.
Guest quarters are roomy prospector style white canvas tents on raised wooden platforms, complete with remote-controlled propane woodstoves, a/c power, Adirondack queen or twin beds with down duvets, antique furnishings and accessories, oil lamps and opulent rugs. Generous porches overlook the river.
At a glance -- a remote outpost, but up close -- an ultra-luxurious, 21st-century-eco-safari style wilderness playground.
Five-star food and beverage service, world-class amenities, sumptuous interiors, and super natural adventure, leave nothing wanting, no detail undone.
National Geographic Traveler magazine calls the resorts "rusticating luxury". We call it home and we know you will too.
Remote. Refined. Remarkable.
